The CGRG is a nonprofit organization, and the team donates a portion of every bout to a local charity. So far the team has donated more than $4,000 to Special Olympics and Southeast Hospice since this season began in February. A donation from this bout will go to Watkins Wildlife Rehab. Last month the team chose Beacon Health System to receive a check, which will be presented at half-time. Other charities designated this season as beneficiaries of the team’s good will include the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Foundation and the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri.
The CGRG takes pride in providing a family-friendly atmosphere. After every bout the fans are invited down to the track for photos and autographs, and children are encouraged to jumpinto the team photo. With the addition of the coed expo bout, doors will open an hour earlier than in previous years, at 5:00. The CGRG will meet Confluence Crush at 6:00, and the expo bbout will follow after a brief break.
Tickets can be purchased for $9 at the door the night of the bout and for $7 in advance from any roller girl, at Pitter’s Café, PMac Music or online at www.brownpapertickets.com.
