The Wheeled Wonders Funfest brought children of all ages out to explore tow trucks, ambulances, and police cars to learn about the hardworking men and women who operate these vehicles while getting to honk horns and explore.
The event took place in the Steve and Barry’s parking lot at West Park Mall, and was presented by Discovery Playhouse. What better event for the Cape Girardeau Rollers girls to teach the children about roller skating safety while getting to do what they love best, skating and hanging out with future fans!
In full gear the girls showed the children about the importance of wearing a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards, to prevent the inevitable injuries that occur when learning how to skate. The Roller Girls also answered questions and showed off their skills to the children’s amusement.
The kids also enjoyed getting skulls, roller skates, hearts, peace signs, and more painted on their faces by the lovely Bombshell Boomer and Eleanor Whip-Me. Assault-N-Pepa also organized a bean bag toss where the kids lined up to throw bean bags into a roller skate for prizes. Parents enjoyed talking to the girls and learning about who the Cape Girardeau Roller Girls are and what they do for the community. The girls posed for pictures with the kids and their families and answered any questions that they had.
Boys and girls alike had a blast hanging out with the Cape Girardeau Roller Girls this year, and we always look forward to hanging out with the kids again!
