Are you ready for some hard-hitting action and dazzling displays of agility? Of course you are, and so are we! The AC Brase Arena in Cape Girardeau is the place to be on August 9th! There, you will find all this excitement and more as the Cape Girardeau Roller Girls take on the Queen City Roller Derby Girls (QCRD)! These ladies will travel all the way from Springfield, Missouri with their traveling team, the Queen B's. Last March, CGRG played QCRD at their home arena. It was an action-packed game, but CGRG came away with the win. With CGRG currently boasting a winning record of 4-3, this game is not to be missed! You can find out more about this event on Facebook by clicking HERE.
CGRG takes pride in giving back to the community and has donated thousands of dollars to area charities. The proceeds from July's bout will be presented at halftime to the Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland. A portion of the proceeds from this bout will benefit The Parks and Rec Foundation.
As always, the bouts are family friendly and children are welcome to get autographs or take pictures with the roller girls before the game, at halftime, and when the action is finished. Concessions are available, including beer for those 21 and above! Doors open at 5pm with the first whistle at 6pm! Following the main bout, will be a co-ed mashup scrimmage. Area men and women skaters are invited to strap on their skates and join in the fun. For more information or to sign up to skate with us during that bout, click HERE.
Think you can handle all this excitement? Presale tickets are available at a reduced rate of $7 prior to bout date from any roller girl, PMac Music, or online HERE from brownpapertickets.com. Tickets at the door are $9, with children five and under free. While you're at it, go ahead and mark your calendars for our annual skater mash-up; Capetown Smackdown V on November 9th! Interested in being a part of the action? We are currently recruiting referees, non-skating officials, volunteers, and skaters. Just email JOIN@capegirardeaurollergirls.com for further information! Hope to see you there!!
